This is the image for the news article titled Ms. Josefina Calle Performs for JKB Students! Our JKB students had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Josefina Calle. She is 79 years young. Her grand daughter, Alina Cheng, is one of our 5th grade students. She attends school events and enjoys the opportunity to be active on the beautiful campus her granddaughter loves to be. She visited with our students about the history Peru. She shares that Peru is a country in South America that's home to a section of Amazon rain forest and Machu Picchu, an ancient Incan city high in the Andes mountains. She shared stories about growing up as a little girl in Peru and how she loved to dance. She shared stories about the costumes and colors associated with each dance. We are so thankful for her knowledge and excitement of sharing her story. It was an important lesson for all of us to remember that grandparents are all part of a wonderful circle of life and are connected through children they all love dearly. It's all about the love and grandparents offer that in abundance. The students were even able to see Mrs. Owen dance along!!
